Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how teraCall ("teraCall", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit teracalls.com, use our international calling and mobile top-up services, sign up for our newsletter, request a promotional code, or otherwise interact with us. This document is a working draft intended to reflect current practice; please review it with qualified legal counsel before relying on it for compliance with the laws of your specific jurisdiction. The English version is the authoritative legal text; translations are provided for convenience only.
Who we are
teraCall is the controller of personal information collected through teracalls.com. You can reach us at info@teracalls.com for any privacy question, or at privacy@teracalls.com for formal rights requests. If you are in the EU, UK, or Switzerland and need a designated contact, write to privacy@teracalls.com and we will route your request appropriately.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to operate the service and to honor the choices you make. The categories are:
Information you give us directly. When you fill out the contact form, request a promo code, sign up for the newsletter, or correspond with us, we collect your name (optional), email address, the message or topic you share, the country or service you are interested in, your preferred language, and your marketing-consent status.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site we and our infrastructure providers receive standard server logs (IP address, user agent, referring URL, timestamp), and — only if you have consented — analytics events (pages viewed, clicks, approximate location derived from IP, device class) and marketing identifiers used for measurement.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep the site secure and functional, and — only with your consent — additional analytics and marketing cookies. See our Cookies page at /cookies/ for the full list and your controls.
We do not knowingly collect government identifiers, payment card numbers, or special-category data (such as health, biometric, or precise geolocation) through this website.
How we use information
We use personal information to: (a) deliver and operate the service you requested, including responding to your contact form, sending a promo code you asked for, or processing a top-up; (b) send transactional emails such as receipts, confirmation, and account or security notices; (c) send marketing communications about teraCall products, offers, and news where you have given consent or where permitted by law, with a clear opt-out in every message; (d) measure and improve the website and our marketing, where you have consented to analytics; (e) prevent fraud, abuse, spam, and other security threats; and (f) comply with legal obligations such as tax, accounting, anti-fraud, and law enforcement requests.
Legal bases (EU and UK users)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following lawful bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR: your consent for marketing communications and for non-essential cookies and analytics; performance of a contract when you request a service from us; our legitimate interests in running, securing, and improving the service, in defending legal claims, and in conducting basic measurement (balanced against your rights); and compliance with a legal obligation. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information for money. We share personal information only with the following categories of recipients, and only as needed for the purposes above: (a) infrastructure providers that host the website and run our backend, including Amazon Web Services for hosting, content delivery, and email transmission (Amazon SES) — these providers process data on our behalf under written data-processing terms; (b) analytics and marketing-measurement processors, only with your consent; (c) professional advisors such as lawyers, auditors, and accountants under confidentiality obligations; (d) authorities, courts, and law enforcement when we are legally required, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of teraCall, our users, or the public; and (e) acquirers and their advisors in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, subject to commitments consistent with this policy.
For purposes of California law, we do not "sell" personal information and we do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and provide the choices the law requires.
International data transfers
teraCall operates from the United States and our infrastructure providers are primarily in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum) with our processors. You can request a copy of the safeguards by writing to privacy@teracalls.com.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes listed above. As a guideline: contact-form messages are retained for up to 24 months; newsletter subscriber records are retained until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression period to honor your opt-out; server logs and security events are retained for up to 12 months; and consent and unsubscribe records are retained for as long as we may need to demonstrate compliance, typically up to 6 years. Aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you may be retained longer.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information.
EU, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR). You may request access to your information, request that we correct inaccurate information, request that we delete information ("right to be forgotten"), request that we restrict or object to certain processing, request portability of information you provided to us, and withdraw consent for any processing that relies on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, your member state's data protection authority.
California (CCPA / CPRA). California residents have the right to know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients; the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information; the right to request deletion; the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising (note that we do not engage in either); the right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it through this site); and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request; we will verify their authority.
Other US states. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights similar to those described above. We will honor them on the same terms.
To exercise any right, email privacy@teracalls.com from the address associated with your record (or include enough information for us to verify you safely). We will respond within the time required by law — typically within 30 days, with an extension where the law allows. We will not charge you a fee for reasonable requests.
Children
teraCall is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not sell or share personal information of consumers we know to be under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@teracalls.com and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest in our managed databases and storage, least-privilege access controls, and continuous monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever become aware of an incident that meaningfully affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Cookies and tracking
We describe the cookies and tracking technologies we use, and your choices for each, on our Cookies page at /cookies/. You can change your consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will give reasonable notice — for example, by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by displaying a banner on the site or by emailing registered users. Your continued use of teracalls.com after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
How to contact us
